Wishlists on Steam: How Invisible X Plans Its 2025 Launch

Hello again! Time has flown by, and here we are, already in 2025.

It’s been almost 10 years since I presented Invisible X at Gamelab in Barcelona. Although the development hasn’t progressed as much as we would have liked, due to various external reasons, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve surpassed 250 wishlists on Steam.

What are wishlists on Steam? They’re a key tool that helps players discover and closely follow games that haven’t been released yet. Thanks to this feature, Invisible X continues to spark interest, and that means the world to me. Whether this game caught your eye before or you’re just discovering it now, thank you for being here and being part of this journey!

Steam wishlists

These stats show consistent growth in our wishlists, reaching nearly 300 additions and over 200 active wishes. This proves that Invisible X is capturing the attention of players interested in its launch in 2025.

Starting today, Invisible X takes a leap forward with plans to launch in less than a year. Here we go!

When will Invisible X be released?

As I mentioned, my goal is to release a demo this year, in 2025, and if everything goes well, launch the full game in less than a year. Better late than never, right? With lots of love and determination, I’m fighting to ensure this project doesn’t fade away, as it almost did a few years ago. Looking back at the progress made and the milestones achieved, I told myself: “You’ve got to finish things, even if it’s a decade later.” It might not bring in profits, but I know I’ll gain invaluable experience and the satisfaction of having created something I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

What are wishlists?

Wishlists on Steam have always been a curious and somewhat complicated topic. For those who might not know, wishlists are Steam's 'favorites list,' provided by Valve, the creators of Half-Life.

Basically, they let players mark games they’re interested in that aren’t released yet. You can check out the game’s profile, play a demo if available, or follow it in Steam events, and once the game launches, Steam notifies you so you don’t miss the chance to grab it.

As for developers, Steam wishlists are crucial for gauging player interest in a project. Experts often recommend hitting at least 10,000 wishlists before launch to ensure a reasonable success and recoup investments. Of course, this needs to go hand in hand with a strong marketing strategy to make your game stand out and grab attention.

How to view these Steam statistics

If you have a game on Steam, accessing statistics and metrics is straightforward through the platform. Here's how:

  1. Access Steamworks: Log into your developer account on Steamworks, Valve's official tool for developers.
  2. Find your game: Select the title you want to analyze from the main dashboard.
  3. Navigate metrics: Go to the statistics section, where you can explore detailed data like wishlists, sales, visits, and more.
  4. Discover wishlists: In the analytics tab, you'll see current wishlist numbers and their trends over time—perfect for planning your marketing strategy.

These tools are essential for understanding player interest and making key decisions for your game. If you're a developer and haven’t explored Steamworks yet, I highly recommend diving into it.

Closing Thoughts

And that’s my quick overview of the journey with Invisible X. It’s been years of learning, challenges, and tons of excitement. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to add the game to your wishlist on Steam so you don’t miss a thing. Every bit of support counts to help this project reach more people. Thanks for being part of this journey, and I hope you enjoy the game as much as I loved creating it!

Thanks for reading, and from the bottom of my heart, I hope the game I’m making brings you as much joy as the legendary PlayStation 1 games did for me during my childhood. Big hugs, and let’s keep working hard!
